(Full-time – Permanent role)

Kerry Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre (KRSAC) works for the protection of women, men, and children from all forms of sexual violence and abuse. It primarily supports survivors of sexual abuse and violence through free, confidential, and non-judgmental information, support and counselling. Our service delivery includes: professional counselling; Garda and court accompaniment; advice & support to both survivors, and their supporters. KRSAC is a member of Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI).

The Chief Executive will report directly to the Chairperson and the Board of Directors. They will be responsible for delivering on the vision, mission and strategic plan of KRSAC. They will also oversee the development and implementation of the organisation’s programmes and services on behalf of the Board.

It primarily supports survivors of sexual abuse and violence through free, confidential, and non-judgmental information, support and counselling. Our service delivery includes: counselling; Garda and court accompaniment, telephone counselling and services for supporters. KRSAC is a member of Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI).

Overall Purpose of Role:
Reporting directly to the Chairperson and the Board of Directors, the CE will be responsible for delivering on the vision, mission and strategic plan of the organisation, including managing the budget. They will also oversee the development and implementation of the organisation’s programmes and services on behalf of the Board.

Specific Responsibilities:

STRATEGY

  • Manage the implementation, monitoring, and review of KRSAC Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Manage the administration and day-to-day operations of KRSAC in line with roles, responsibilities and guidelines adopted by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure decisions made at Board and operational meetings are implemented.

POLICY

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of research, knowledge and policy in the sexual violence sector.

COMMUNICATION/ RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

  • Promote the aims and objectives of KRSAC at local, regional and national level.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key agencies and funders.
  • Represent KRSAC on relevant committees.
  • Spokesperson for KRSAC, including production of press releases and participation in media interviews as appropriate.
  • Participate in Rape Crisis Network Ireland structures.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Overall responsibility for human resources management.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and volunteers.
  • Facilitate training and development of staff and volunteers.
  • Performance management of staff.
  • Ensure the full participation of staff and volunteers in all appropriate decision making.

FINANCIAL

  • Oversight responsibility for the financial activities and budgets of the organisation.
  • Manage financial compliance, procurement, and risk management processes.
  • Provide regular financial reporting to the Board and funders.
  • Identify additional funding sources and develop proposals as appropriate to progress the goals and strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Lead and deliver on the fundraising objectives of the organisation.

COMPLIANCE

  • On behalf of the Board, develop, implement, monitor and review operational policies, processes and systems in areas such as Charities Regulator Governance Code compliance, employment processes, volunteer management, risk management, health and safety, data protection, IT usage, complaints, quality standards, and other policies and procedures as required.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant codes of practice and ethics by counsellors with regard to client work and supervision.

REPORTING

  • Ensure a good flow of timely and relevant information to the Chairperson and the Board.
  • Produce Service Agreements, Annual Reports and Planning Reports.

Terms and Conditions:

  • This is a full-time, permanent post (35 hours per week) .
  • A 6- month probation period will apply.
  • Normal working hours will be 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Flexibility will be required as the post can involve some evening & weekend work.

Total Compensation & Benefits:

  • Remuneration is based on a salary scale (€64,065 – €65,427 – €66,446 -€69,440 €72,433 and will be commensurate with experience )
  • Annual Leave: 25 days annually, plus public holidays.
  • Supervision paid for on a monthly basis and within the working week.
  • Pension: 7% contribution to the KRSAC Pension scheme after completion of probationary period. Employee contribution of 7% obligatory.

Garda Vetting:

  • Garda vetting is a requirement

Appendix 1 Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree or post graduate level or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a senior co-ordination or management role
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience of working with annual and multi-annual grant aided budgets and a demonstrated understanding of financial management.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of leading, implementing and managing change in an organisation.
  • Experience of planning and implementing projects.
  • An ability to develop, implement and oversee good systems, processes, and procedures that delivery high quality services.
